With 6-bit coded Leica M lenses, the camera incurs an irreversible modification to the raw files, an offensively stupid design decision by Leica—RAW is not RAW even if the pimples are not a lame software bug on top of it.

Were one to use a (coded) Leica-brand 21mm lens, there is no choice as to vignetting correction. But with a non-coded non-Leica lens, this option is there for full creative potential. And that is indeed what it is—a creative tool. Why Leica insists on forcing vignetting correction when film never had that option and the user might not want it... who can say.
