Sony Finally Fixes “Unable to Magnify” bug in Sony A7R V
re: botched design
The Sony A7R V bug that caused images to fail to play has been fixed, apparently in mid-October. Due to travel, I was not aware the the fix had been made... almost a year after I first reported the problem. But at least it has been fixed!
Or I should say it is claimed to have been fixed. I want to see a few hundred captures or so captures go by before I conclude that.
Now that it apparently works, I am going to set the A7R V to lossless RAW + HEIF 4-4-2 in hopes of getting ultra high quality image review—TBD.
BTW, it seems that Sony no longer provides a PDF user manual that is up to date. All you can get is a “printable” PDF of the web version.
